Throughout human history and across cultures, people have gathered in community to celebrate light and life as the days grow colder and darker. Join us in celebrating the shortest day and longest night of the year- the Winter Solstice! There is so much we can learn from the natural world this time of the year. Instead of constant motion, the earth is growing quiet. The plants and animals are storing away food for the cold months or preparing to sink into dormancy. For many human animals, it is a time of reflection, introspection, and goal setting for the coming year.
Take the time this Winter Solstice to warm-up by a roaring fire and enjoy warm soup and bread at Lime Hollow! Set your intentions by creating a wish bundle and walk through a Winter Spiral made of evergreen branches. As you walk into the center you are reminded of the days growing shorter and shorter and become more introspective. As you wind your way out of the spiral remember that moving forward the days will lengthen and you bring the light of new promises and ambitions into the world.
