Our campers turn into intrepid explorers, herpetologists, trackers, fort builders, and so much more! Each week offers a unique theme which promises to inspire a deep connection to nature, gets kids socializing, while playing and learning outdoors all day!

  • Does you little one love getting dirty, climbing, building forts, and playing imagination games? Then our Kneehigh Naturalists Camps are perfect for them!

    Each day is filled with incredible adventures as kids venture into the woods and let their imaginations run wild! We will track animals, go fishing, tell and create stories, catch bugs and slither like snakes, and get muddy and tired!

    Week 2 | July 8-12 | Fire Tenders

    This week campers will perfect the art of fire making and learn how to use fire as a survival tool in the wilderness. Campers will be put to the test on their fire-building skills using bow drills, ferro rods, and hand drills. REGISTER

    Week 3 | July 15-19 Wetland Wonders

    Make a splash this year during this mucky, muddy, squishy, and slimy week of fun. We'll be knee-deep in streams, springs, ponds, and bogs; catching insects, salamanders, turtles, and frogs. REGISTER

    Week 4 | July 22-26 | Jr. Wilderness Skills

    Join us for a week with skilled wilderness mentors as we learn the basics of bushcraft. During this week we will explore how to use resources from mother nature to help us be more comfortable in the woods. We’ll practice fire-making, shelter-building, and other helpful camping skills. REGISTER

    Week 5 | July 29-August 2 | Creepy Crawly Critters

    Over 400 million years ago, insects were some of the first animals to crawl out of the ocean and live on land. From pollinating most of the plants we eat to recycling nutrients back into the soil, we have a lot to be thankful for, but oftentimes we don’t give them much thought. Join us this week as we explore the fascinating world of insects and give them the attention they deserve. REGISTER

    Week 6 | August 5-9 | Mudpies and Mashed Potatoes

    There is nothing better than a nice warm meal cooked over a fire. We are calling all chefs to join us for a week filled with cooking fun as we dabble with wild edibles, invent our own campfire meals, and relish in s’more of our favorites. Hope you are hungry! REGISTER

    Take a ride on this spellbinding journey engaging all your senses in this delightful world of fantasy, wonder, and secrets as you venture into our enchanted forest. Tracking down mythical creatures is a Lime Hollow tradition and now you can do it as a first-class magician. REGISTER

    Week 8 | August 19-23 | Nature Art

    For thousands of years, humans have been creating works of art from what they found in nature. Campers will bring out their inner artist with nature as their muse this week. We’ll work with mud, clay, natural paint, and anything nature provides for us. What will you create? REGISTER

    Week 9 | August 26-30 | Fair-well

    Say farewell to summer in style by enjoying the summer’s greatest hits! We’ll play our favorite games, hike to our favorite locations, and sing our favorite songs. On Friday we will celebrate with a carnival and talent show. REGISTER

  • Give your child a break this summer from the stressors of school and digital learning by giving them a healthy dose of “vitamin nature” at our Master Naturalist Camp. Each week will be filled with fun games in the forest, survival skills, journaling, mapping, and more.     This week join our team of naturalists as we take a deep dive into the natural sciences! Campers will delve into the scientific method to help answer some of the mysteries that nature has to offer. We’ll embark on missions near and far while hunting for clues along the trail. REGISTER

    Pure adventure awaits you off the beaten path. Are you ready? This week will hone your bushcraft skills; building shelters, crafting tools, and pushing your survival skills to the next level. REGISTER

    Week 5: July 29- August 2 | A Whittle of this, A Whittle of that

    A simple knife can be one of the most versatile tools when camping in the woods. However, they are only as useful if you know how to safely use one. With a little training and practice you can learn to carve just about anything out of a piece of wood.

    *Week 6: August 5-9 | Manhunt (Campout) | $375

    Relish the freedom of summer in the wilds of Lime Hollow’s forests, fields, and trails. Be prepared for whopping games of capture the flag and manhunt! This will be a very energetic week of sneaking games, secret hideouts, and camouflage.

    Spend Wednesday & Thursday nights under the stars complete with bonfires, cookouts, and night hikes. *The campouts are a part of this week’s experience and campers will be expected to stay overnight. An additional fee is included in the weekly tuition. REGISTER

    Week 7: August 12-16 | Hunter Gatherer

    Who says camp food has to taste blah? We're calling all wannabe chefs to learn and help create amazing campfire meals. As we harvest from our garden and forage in the forest, we will learn which plants to pick and which to leave behind. It'll surely be a scrumptious week. REGISTER

    Week 8:August 19-23 | Nature Art

    Say farewell to summer in style by enjoying some of our favorite and most memorable camp activities and locations. Throughout this fun and easy week, be prepared for the unexpected. On Friday, enjoy fun games and special treats as our Master Naturalists put together a fun-filled carnival for the youngsters! REGISTER

  • Our Wanderers Camp is designed for our campers that want to take their nature connection journey to the next level. With no home base to call their own, the Wanderers will spend most of their time in the deeper reaches of Lime Hollow. Teamed up with our experienced mentors, campers will master more advanced wilderness skills, play team-building games, and develop a greater sense of self and community.

    Wanderers is best for campers who have attended Lime Hollow’s Master Naturalist Camps or have had similar wilderness experiences. Contact us at info@limehollow.org if you have more questions.

    Wilderness Masters August 5-9 |(CAMPOUT) | $375

    Answer the call of the wild and unlock the secrets of our ancestors! Build a cozy nest in the heart of nature, savor the taste of campfire cuisine, and master the art of bushcraft. The untamed wilderness is waiting, are you ready to unleash your inner explorer?

  • We have revamped our Mentors-in-Training (MIT) program to include both a traditional camper experience and begin to integrate them into leadership and mentorship roles with younger campers.

    MITs are campers who demonstrate leadership and responsibility. They are leaders and serve as a support network for our mentors and younger campers. They are assigned to small groups of Kneehigh Naturalist or Junior Naturalist campers each week with a mentor to help guide them. ‍ REGISTER

    MIT SAMPLE DAY

    New to Lime Hollow or want to experience what a day in the life of a MIT is like before committing? Join us for an MIT Sample Day on Saturday, April 13, 10-3Pm. REGISTER

    MIT Schedule:

    8:00AM | MIT Drop off

    8:15AM - 10AM | MIT opening circle and skills training. MITs will focus on core routines, team building, nature skills, and games. The goal of this is to build their tool kits and give them confidence in leading groups. MITs will utilize the weekly camp themes for inspiration to create their own games and activities.

    10:00AM | Join their groups of younger campers and lad mentors

    11:30/12 | Go on a hike/complete activities with their group.

    2pm | Return to camp to assist with end of day activities, closing circle, and free time.

    2:30pm | On Wednesdays and Fridays - Debrief with MIT Mentor

    This is a special week for MITs. All MITs will join the Wanderer Camp this week and take their nature connection to the next level by honing wilderness and awareness skills and sleeping out under the stars at Lime Hollow (2 nights).

    This week is available for the reduced MIT price for all those signed up for 3 or more other MIT weeks.

    For those campers who are MITs for 2 or fewer weeks, please click "Enroll in Another Program" at the end of registration to enroll in the Wanderer week at full price. REGISTER

    Listen up, nature lovers! Summer is here, and it's time to answer the call of the wild and embrace the magic of Central New York. Peter Harrity will be your guide, so pack your bags and get ready for a week of adventure camping at beautiful NY State Parks. The week includes adventures paddle boarding, exploring Central New York, giving back with local service projects and much more. The great outdoors awaits, and we're ready to take it on! Let's go!

    This week will contain day adventures and overnights. Monday will be a day trip and the participants will be out traveling and camping Tuesday-Friday.

Times and Ages

Full-day camps start with kids as young as 3 years old and continue through 10th graders! All camps are 8am-3pm with an extended care option until 5pm.

Tuition and Payment

Tuition rates are based on the camp you register for. See the camp descriptions below for price details

If you would like to break up payments, we can do that! $50/week is due at enrollment to secure your spot and the remaining balance will be automatically broken up into payments charged monthly on the 20th of the month until July. See our Cancellation Policy for details if you cannot make one or more weeks of camp.

We offer extended care from 3pm-5pm for an additional $50/week ($40 during July 4th week and $30 during campout weeks).
